Heroes of Olympus Book 3 - Julia Bock

I have just finished reading Heroes of Olympus - The Mark of Athena, written by Rick Riordan. It starts off with a group of greek and a roman demigod(s) in a greek warship approaching a land called New Rome in order to retrieve another demigod named Percy Jackson. All goes well until a demigod on the ship accidentally fires on New Rome, declaring war. After that they are forced to leave quickly to prevent being killed. They gather on the ship and worry that Camp Jupiter (which was the roman camp name) would come after Camp Half Blood (the greek camp name). Leo (the one who fired on New Rome) has no idea what made him do that. Though they retrieved Percy, along with his two new friends Frank and Hazel, the romans are furious with the attack and vow to make their way to Camp Half Blood and destroy it. During their time on the ship, Percy has a dream about his old friend, Nico being trapped in a bronze vase. A strange voice tells him that he and his crew (Hazel, Frank, Leo, Piper, Jason, and Annabeth) have only 5 days to save him until he dies. The crew makes their way across the country to the ancient lands of Rome in order to save Hazel's brother, Nico.

i just finished reading a book called Jinx by Sage Blackwood. The protagonist in this story is a boy named Jinx and the antagonist is the Bonemaster. The story began with Jinx when he was a little boy and he had to live with his step dad, but the step dad didn't like Jinx because who ever took him would die because of his curse, so he went to a forest in the Urwarld. The step dad didn't like Jinx, he was going to leave Jinx on his own in the Urwarld forest to die, until a wizard named Simon was wandering the forest and found the two men in the forest and asked the step dad he will trade the boy for one silver penny. Of course the step father Berthgold that it was a joke trading his step son for one silver penny so he argued with Simon. Then a long came trolls Simon quickly used a n invisibility spell to make him and Jinx safe so they didn't get taken away from the trolls. The trolls didn't see Jinx and Simon, so they took Berthgold. Jinx now belonged to Simon. Simon took Jinx home and and Jinx was confused of what just happened and asked multiple questions. Simon just told him he did an invisibility spell and saved him and himself. Simon told Jinx that Jinx can leave with him as long as he works for him. Jinx agreed to this. When Jinx was cleaning one day he met Simon's wife Sophie. She walked through a wall and Jinx met her and he was curious how she did that. He tried to walk through the wall, but ended up hurting himself. A few years went by as Jinx get older he gets more curious about magic. Everything he cleans he helps himself to some of Simon's magic books. He asked Simon on how to levitate things and Simon taught him how. Jinx and Simon went walking and they met the Bonemaster and Jinx could read the Bonemasters thought because that is one of his specialties. The Bonmaster had a pink fluffy cloud and knives in them. Jinx knew he was a an evil wizard once he read his thoughts. The Bonemaster asked Jinx if Simon was treating him with disrespect, but before he could say anything Simon stopped him from talking and said to leave the boy alone. Jinx and Simon just kept walking forward. Simon told Jinx stories about the Bonemaster and said he sucks sould out of people with a straw. He also told Jinx Jinx to stay away from him no matter what happens. Simon and Jinx walked to a witch's house. Her name was Dame Glammer. She gave roots to Simon because he wanted something for her. Then once Simon got home with Jinx he told Jinx to lay on the floor. He drew lines around Jinx with a circle and read something in Urwish and took away Jinx's soul because when you are an apprentice to a wizard they take your soul a gives it back to you when u become a wizard. Jinx got mad and didn't know what happened, so he took it to another level and went to a place he shouldn't have gone to and he went to Samara. What Jinx doesn't know is Samara doesn't allow magic. Once Jinx said that his master is a wizard, they attacked him and out of nowhere Simon came to save Jinx. Simon made everyone freeze and Simon got shot with an arrow. Jinx and Simon ran to safety and went home. Sophie got home and saw Simon bleeding to death and she ordered Jinx to get things to help Simon. Sophie asked what happened and Jinx told her about speaking magic in Samara. She asked why he was in Samara he said he wanted someone to take the curse off him of what Simon did to him and Sophie flipped and yelled at Simon why he did magic on a human and being. Simon just didn't say anything and Sophie was very mad and Jinx was upset. Jinx left the house and said to Simon I'm leaving this house. Jinx ran away from Simon and went into the Urwarld to find the Bonemaster to take off his curse. On the way to the Bonemaster he met a very well mannered boy named Reven and a truthful girl named Elthwyn. Those two people had a curse just like Jinx Reven was cursed with breaking or hurting things. Elthwyn's curse was to tell the truth. They went to the Bonemaster and the Bonemaster made them into slaves. Jinx and his friends found an under layer and saw bottles of people hanging from a string. They took all the bottles and tried running away from the Bonemaster, but the Bonemaster caught them on time hanging from a cliff. He pushed Jinx off of the cliff. Jinx's spirit was still alive, but his body was like a rock stiff and still. Simon came to the rescue and did his spell on Jinx to save him. He saved Jinx and they put the Bonemaster in a bottle so he wouldn't harm anyone.
