A Matter of Heart
Summary by: Andzelika Cetera
A girl named Abby took home first place after a swimming competition, but she suddenly started to feel dizzy and passed out. Her parents took her to the doctors and found out that she has a heart condition, HCM or hypertrophic cardiomyopathy which can lead her to death if she doesn't take pills. The pills lower her heart rate, so she can't swim without taking the pill, which causes her to slow her speed in swimming. The worst part is that she was going to compete in the olympic trials! So for about a week she switched the pills with baby aspirin because they look the same. The day of the olympic trials, her mom figured out and didn't let her go. She was so desperate to go, she rode her tiny bike. She started to feel dizzy and realized that she was rude to the one that was meant to be, Alec and didn't want to die. Luckily, she did not die, but when she got to the pool she made up with Alec.
