Dominique Faulkenberry 140pg

The Janitor's Boy is about Jack Rankin. In second grade everyone found out that his dad is the chief janitor of the school. He doesn't like the idea of that so to get revenge on his dad Jack sticks thirteen pieces of chewed up watermelon gum and puts it all over the schools desks. What made Jack do it because his dad came in his classroom to clean up vomit and his dad came in and said "Hi Son" in front of he whole class.  The principal found out that it was him that did it and told him that he had to stay after school and scrap all of the gum off of the desk. But the reason why Jack vandalized the desk because he thought that his was going to scrap it off because he is the janitor. Then Mr.Ackerby the school principal found out that Jack did this and wrote a note to his parents. Helen his mom and when Jack got home he got sent to his room after she read the note. Both of his parents had no idea that Jack was embarrassed about his dad being janitor.  Even though his family needs the money. Then Jack makes a daring decision to sneak to the bell tower and climb up it. When he gets home he realize that he wants to be free and his mom talks about behavior. No this story Jacks learns a lot about his  dad.
